Police officers from Huntley and deputies from McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, and firefighters and paramedics from Huntley Fire Protection District responded about 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 to a report of a high-speed rear-end crash on Route 47 at Conley Road in Huntley. Callers reported multiple patients at the scene and one victim unconscious with entrapment. A second Huntley ambulance was dispatched by 1:47 p.m. A third ambulance from Marengo was also assigned to the scene about 2:00 p.m.
Police on scene reported the crash was on Route 47 about 100 feet south of the intersection with Conley Road.
The first fire crew on arrival reported a 2-vehicle crash with heavy damage to one vehicle, and that crews were beginning extrication by 1:51 p.m.
One patient was transferred from Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital after arriving by ambulance, then airlifted to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. One other patient was transported to Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital.
An extended crash investigation was established Saturday afternoon, and Route 47 was closed in both directions between Foster Road / Union Road and the crash scene south of Conley Road.
