A female suspect was in custody and released with the possibility of future charges as crash victim Marc Giolli was suffering injuries from a hit-and-crash in which he was a pedestrian in a wheelchair.
Marc Giolli, was seriously injured in a hit and run crash while crossing Elmhurst Road in his wheelchair in Mount Prospect. He has already suffered in his life from spina bifida and is a paraplegic. After the crash, a gofundme account was set up by Tianna Tyler and Julie O’Hara.
As you can imagine, his daily life is already challenging. My uncle also battles depression and one thing that always helps him out of his slump is to enjoy the sunshine.
Marc was left with a broken pelvis and knee, shattered ribs and a punctured lung, and a deep head wound with internal brain bleeding. The gofundme account was set up because Giolli is facing numerous hospital bills; and when he is released from the hospital, he will be staying in a rehabilitation center until he is in good health.
He is such a caring person and always putting others before himself. Not to mention, he is also the biggest animal lover. His heart is so big and he brings so much joy to our family. This will be a long road, as my uncle is also an amputee so recovery and adjusting back to daily life will be a challenge to say the least. Any little bit will help us through this horrible time and anything is appreciated.
