Logan High senior runner Gracie Laney was leading the final stretch of a relay race — the second heat of the girls’ 4×200 relay event on April 17, 2021 at the Grizzly Invitational — when a little white dog named Holly broke from a grass embankment near the track and joined the race. Laney lost the lead to Holly in the last few meters of her anchor lead.
