Jensen Karp claimed on Twitter on Monday, March 22, 2021 that he found what appeared to be toasted shrimp tails in his Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Additionally, Karp said he found a piece of string, some cinnamon toast squares with small black spots on them, an object that looked like a pea, and some dental floss. Cinnamon Toast Crunch then issued a statement on Twitter claiming the tails were “an accumulation of the cinnamon sugar that sometimes can occur when ingredients aren’t thoroughly blended”. On March 23, 2021, General Mills claimed the company is investigating the case, but that contamination “did not occur at [their] facility”.

Life experience presents a lot of surreal evidence in plain sight, but it’s just difficult to assemble the meaning of all this so far. A man named Jensen Karp (with previous stage name Hot Karl), who is married to a woman named Danielle Fishel, claims he found toasted shrimp tails in a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Danielle Fishel played Topanga in Boy Meets World on ABC, and the cereal was purchased at a Costco near the corner of Victory Boulevard and Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Woodland Hills, California. Jensen Karp used to be a guest on Pistol Shrimp Podcast, hosted by Matt Gourley and Mark McConville, that presents a surreal comedy routine with running commentary on games played by the Los Angeles-based women’s basketball team the Pistol Shrimps.
