Schaumburg police, firefighters and paramedics responded about 2:08 p.m., Sunday, March 21, 2021 to a traffic crash involving a white 2015 Lexus and a 2012 BMW Motorcycle in the intersection of Golf Road and National Parkway.
Upon arrival of emergency personnel, the driver of the motorcycle was determined to be deceased at the scene. The motorcycle driver was identified as Frederikas Suchaverskis, 49 year-old male resident of McHenry, Illinois.
The driver of the Lexus, a 72year old female from Rolling Meadows was not injured. A passenger in the Lexus, a 44-year-old female from Rolling Meadows was transported by the Schaumburg Fire Department to Alexian Brothers Medical Center with serious injuries. A second passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Lexus was occupied with the driver and two passengers. The Lexus traveled eastbound on Golf Road, stopped at the intersection of Golf Road and National Parkway, and the driver of the Lexus was waiting to make a left turn. The motorcycle was traveling westbound on Golf Road. The Lexus turned left, to proceed northbound onto National Parkway, and failed to yield to the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Lexus.
The Schaumburg Police Department in a release Monday, March 22, 2021 did not indicate whether the motorcyclist was speeding, but stated that the crash investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Major Case Assistance Team Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (MCAT-STAR)Team.
