San Francisco Area Residents Wake Up to “Apocalyptic”, Orange, Smoke-Choked Skies

#ad▼

All across the San Francisco Bay Area, residents woke up to dark, orange skies.

The Pacific Southwest Region of the United States Forest Service on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, announced the closure effective at 5:00 p.m. PT of an additional 10 National Forests, bringing the total to 18 National Forests closed California.

Strange and foreboding red-orange skies and a layer of falling ash greeted Bay Area residents as they woke on Wednesday. Fires are to blame, of course, but not a specific fire.

ABC7 News Bay Area streamed a live look outside San Francisco’s Embarcadero starting about 1:15 p.m. PT when the temperature was 61 degrees.
