Police and firefighter/paramedics from Hoffman Estates responded about 7:35 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2020 to a report of a vehicle crash with a motorcycle. A caller reported a gray Nissan was involved in the crash, but initially it was unknown whether the driver of the Nissan stopped to help the motorcyclist, or whether the driver of the Nissan was involved in the crash.
The motorcyclist was ejected into a ditch, and was treated and transported with life-threatening injuries by Hoffman Estates firefighter/paramedics to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital.
The crash is under investigation following an extended on-scene investigation by the MCAT-STAR team of investigators. Higgins Road near the crash scene is a 4-lane highway with a grass median and a Speed Limit of 55 MPH, according to Google Maps Street View images captured August 2019.
