Vehicle Fire Next to Downed Power Lines in Zion Extinguished by Firefighters Following Electricity Shutdown by ComEd

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Zion responded early Friday morning August 21, 2020 to a vehicle fire that was in the proximity of downed power lines that were arcing. Initially, no injuries were reported. According to Zion Fire Department, ComEd responded quickly to secure the arcing electric line, allowing fire crews to safely extinguish the fire.

Firefighters also kept damage to a nearby garage at a minimum before ComEd arrived, and firefighters could proceed with completely extinguishing the vehicle fire.

Zion Fire Department did not release the location of the downed power line.
