Hit-and-Run Crash with Injuries on I-90 Northbound Just East of Kimball Ave, Chicago

Illinois State Police and police and firefighter/paramedics from Chicago responded about 11:41 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2020 to a report of a crash with injuries on the Kennedy Expressway northbound at Kimball Avenue, but the crash was closer to Belmont Avenue.

UPDATE: Driver and vehicle in custody in the block of 3100 North Spaulding by 12:10 p.m.

The crash was located just east of Kimball Avenue, closer to Belmont Avenue.


The offending vehicle was described as a dark gray Toyota Corolla with damage all around the vehicle. The vehicle was previously reported stolen out of Chicago. The vehicle that was driven from the scene was reported with two female occupants, and the driver was described as a female/Hispanic with red hair, wearing a black cutoff shirt and light blue shorts.

The offending vehicle and offending driver were last scene on I-90 northbound, exiting at Belmont Avenue — a short distance north of the crash scene.

Traffic from crash was backed up to North Avenue at 12 noon.
