Zion police officers responded about 1:03 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2020 to a report of an armed robbery of a motor vehicle in the block of 2600 Sheridan Road. The 24-year old male victim reported that he had just left his residence and entered his vehicle when he was approached by a group of five male/black subjects. Some may have been juveniles. One of the subjects grabbed the driver’s side door as the victim was attempting to close it, pointed a handgun at him, and demanded he get out of the car and give him the keys. The victim complied and exited the vehicle. The offender demanded the victim’s cell phone at which point the victim took off running.
The carjacking victim was not injured.
The five offenders entered the victim’s vehicle, which was described as a silver 2007 Infiniti G35x 4-door sedan with Illinois registration: AN 22 568.
The vehicle has noticeable cracks on the front bumper, a rosary necklace hanging from the rear view mirror and a visible white scuff mark on the rear bumper. The vehicle was last seen heading northbound in the block of 2600 Elim Avenue. Zion police reported the vehicle had not yet been recovered late Wednesday afternoon.

5’8” – 6’, thin build
late teens or early 20’s, dark complexion
scruffy & unkempt facial hair;
and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans;
armed with a gun — black semi-automatic with a gray slide
Security video in the area captured images of the other four offenders. They were all wearing dark hooded sweatshirts or coats. One was wearing white pants, one was wearing dark pants with a white stripe running down the pants, and another appeared to have dark stonewashed jeans with rips running down the front. The fourth was wearing dark pants. At least one of the offenders was wearing a light blue surgical mask.
