District 25 on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. announced the closure of all District 25 facilities effective Saturday, March 14, 2020. The closure will last at least through the end of Spring Break, which is scheduled to end with school resuming Monday, March 30, 2020.

District 25 Letter Saturday March 14, 2020

“Effective Saturday, March 14th, all District 25 facilities are CLOSED until further notice, at least through Spring Break. It is time for us to take this important step to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Below is some specific information related to this closure.

All activities, district-sponsored and third-party sponsored, are cancelled. Organizations that use our facilities (local sports groups, private music tutors, CAP, Music for Youth, Fun Fluency) will not be permitted to meet in any District 25 building until further notice.

In the next few days, we expect to notify all families about at-home learning opportunities for our students that will cover up to 5 days of closure. Students and parents are encouraged to do what they are capable of working on considering the circumstances. Should we need to be closed more than 5 days, District 25 will be working with our teachers to provide additional experiences.

We will continue to utilize the School Messenger email system as our primary communication tool. Information will also be posted as soon as possible to the District’s website at www.sd25.org.
You can always contact me, and I’ll respond to you as soon as possible. Email is best at [email protected] , but you are also welcome to call me at 847-758-4870.

If your child qualifies for free/reduced lunch at school, please watch for additional information as we have prepared meals for your child to have during any dates we are closed.
A calendar describing the upcoming days is attached.
Staff members should monitor their D25 email for additional information.”

Lori D. Bein, Ed.D.
Superintendent
