Another commercial truck crash occurred this weekend — on Sunday on I-80 near New Lenox, one day after a commercial truck crash on I-90 near Hoffman Estates. The Illinois State Police on Sunday morning February 23, 2020 at 10:19 a.m. advised motorists to use alternate routes for the next several hours on I-80 westbound from I-355 to US Route 30. Westbound I-80 was shut down for several hours.
Illinois State Police District 05 was on the scene of a single vehicle crash involving a semi-trailer truck at I-80 westbound, milepost 137 in the construction zone. There were no injuries reported, according to the Illinois State Police. A truck tractor and semi trailer that was carrying coffee creamer, was down the embankment approximately 100’ off the roadway.
Traffic was diverted onto I-355 Northbound from I-80 westbound while the vehicle is removed. The ramp to I-80 westbound from I-355 southbound was closed.
