Male Pedestrian, Age 70, Hit and Killed by City of Chicago Tow Truck at O’Hare International Airport Park Lot

Chicago police, firefighters, and paramedics responded about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday November 26, 2019 to a report of a person hit by a tow truck at parking lot D at International Terminal 5, O’Hare International Airport.

Syed Muhammed Imam, age 70, was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he was pronounced dead. Syed Muhammed Imam’s death from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His death was ru{“P)led an accident.

Chicago Police said Imam was not in a crosswalk or designated walking area, and that the Chicago Police Department’s major accident unit was investigating the fatal vehicle vs pedestrian incident. The driver of the city tow truck was a 26-year-old man.

Parking Lot D and International Terminal 5 are located on the east side of the airport, just south of I-190.
