Megyn Kelly and Ronan Farrow Speak This Week on Fox News About Investigating NBC Management

#ad▼

Megyn Kelly speaks out about NBC’s alleged Weinstein cover-up for the first time since leaving the network on ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight.’

Ronan Farrow’s articles published in the New Yorker helped uncover the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse allegations. Farrow’s subsequent investigations exposed similar allegations against former Attorney General of New York Eric Tradd Schneiderman and CBS Corporation CEO Les Moonves.

Megyn Kelly is also a lawyer and worked as an associate in the Chicago office of law firm Bickel & Brewer LLP before working for Fox News. Megyn Kelly was a political anchor at Fox News from 2004 to 2017 before switching to NBC — working as a morning talk show host and correspondent with NBC News. The move to NBC was successful financially, but unsuccessful concerning her career. Her work at NBC lasted from September 2017 until her show was cancelled on October 28, 2018 — just 5 days after on-air comments she made about the appropriateness of blackface makeup for Halloween contests became a major controversy.

Ronan Farrow wrote Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators, which was released on October 15, 2019. When media companies, such as a tabloid newspaper, use a legally enforceable non-disclosure agreement (NDA), the media proposes to buy exclusive rights to “catch” the damaging story from the individual, completes the transaction, and then “kills” the story for the benefit of the third party by never publishing the story, and uses the NDA to prevent any other party from publishing the story.

UltraViolet, founded by Shaunna Thomas and Nita Chaudhary, is a women’s advocacy group based in the United Kingdom that conducts online campaigns on social media to emphasize women’s issues, including violence against women, NFL domestic abuse, maternity leave, equal pay, and reproductive rights.

In the case of Matt Lauer’s career and sexual predator allegations, Megyn Kelly and others are calling for the release of accusers’ NDAs drawn up by NBC that allegedly protected Matt Lauer and network’s handling of Matt Lauer’s alleged sexual abuse at the workplace. The turmoil at NBC continues to have repercussions. In a letter to the Democratic National Committee, UltraViolet Action co-founder Shaunna Thomas wrote that “the DNC needs to make it clear that they support survivors of sexual abuse and cancel the upcoming 2020 Democratic presidential primary debate on MSNBC until Comcast and NBC News take clear steps to clean up the toxic culture that exists across their networks.”

Catch and Kill author Ronan Farrow joins Bret Baier on ‘Special Report’ speaks about investigatingclaims against NBC and Matt Lauer.
