Call upgraded to a Still and Box/EMS Plan 1 at 4:05 p.m. Report of smoke on the 14th floor. Fire possibly in a trash chute. BC11 reports a 15-story residential high-rise, 300×100 with smoke conditions. Ventilating and checking conditions floor-by-floor by 4:24 p.m. No complaints from any residents. FRI SEP 13 2019 ~3:25 PM METRA TRAIN CRASH WITH SEMI-TRAILER TRUCK NEAR 2543 WEST COLUMBUS AVE, CHICAGO • Chicago Fire Department • Train vs Semi-Trailer Truck Crash/Personal Injury Crash • 2543 West Columbus Chicago, IL • Report of a crash with injuries involving a Metra train and a semi-trailer truck initially dispatched as 75th St and Columbus. E101 arrives on scene but doesn’t see anything. Companies have to come from the west. BC20 reports the incident is west of the tracks — units coming in from Southwest Highway. Passengers are being removed from the Metra train. There may be some minor injuries. The truck driver was not in the truck when it was hit by the train. EMS Staging at Southwest Highway and California — some passengers complaining they’re not feeling well.
