Roof Fire at 2-Story Home on Mitchell Ave Just North of Central Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedic’s responded at 8:32 PM Thursday, July 4, 2019 to report of fire showing from the roof of a two-story brick house in the block of 900 South Mitchell Ave.

Firefighters, operating on the tower ladder platform, made an opening in the roof over the entrance of the house near the gutter line between the roof and the second floor.

Firefighters on the ground using a hand line doused the roof opening with water, and firefighters were continuing to inspect the opening. Firefighters were also inside checking for extension of the fire in the attic. The house has a tall hip roof.
