Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:54 AM Thursday April 4, 2019 to a report of a wrong-way driver on Northwest Highway near Northwest Highway and Elmhurst Road Mount Prospect, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report an errant driver was immediately stopped in the intersection of Elmhurst Road/Main Street.
Paramedics were called to assess the driver. The driver’s vehicle was moved out of the intersection into the Metra train station parking lot.
At lest one fire department officer initially helped stop the wrong-way driver.
Traffic on Northwest Highway was backed up in both directions immediately after the incident.
