One Person Shot When Two Shoot at Townhouse in Beach Park After They Were Kicked Out of Party

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 11:15 PM, Friday December 21, 2018 to a residence in the block of 12900 West Wakefield Drive in Beach Park to reports of shots fired.

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies upon arrival at the residence discovered several shots were fired and one person sustained a minor gunshot wound. The shooting victim was identified as a 21-year-old man from Beach Park. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Preliminary investigation shows the homeowner on Wakefield Drive was having a party when two uninvited males arrived. The uninvited men were asked to leave, but they became belligerent. They were then escorted outside of the home. A short time later the two unwelcome males returned and began shooting at the home from outside the townhouse. One of the rounds fired struck the 21-year-old victim.

The subjects are described as African American males in their 20’s. One of the males is described as being tall, with an afro-style haircut, and wearing a red jacket. The other male is described as having dreadlocks and wearing a white sweatshirt.

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives continue to investigate the shooting. Any citizens with information are urged to call the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 847-549-5200 or Lake County CrimeStoppers at 847-662-2222.
