No Foul Play Suspected After Teen Found Dead Near Railroad Tracks in Vernon Hills

Vernon Hills police and Countryside FPD firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday December 26, 2018 near the Canadian National railroad tracks near Sullivan Drive and Basswood Court in Vernon Hills.

A Canadian National railway employee on a passing freight train saw the body lying near the railroad tracks on the west side of the tracks, which are adjacent to Westwood Park near Sullivan Drive and Basswood Court in Vernon Hills.

Police investigated the death of the boy, age 15, and preliminary investigation revealed that no foul play was suspected to be a factor in the death.

Vernon Hills police, Countryside Fire Protection District firefighter/paramedics, the Metra Police Department, the Canadian National Railway Police Department, and the Lake County Coroner’s Office were all dispatched to the scene.
