Man Stabbed at Bar Near Rand Rd and Hintz Rd, Arlington Heights

Cook County Sheriff’s Deputies and Palatine firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:17 a.m. Sunday December 16, 2018 to Crave Bar & Food Joynt, 1204 West Rand Road in unincorporated Arlington Heights to a report of two battery victims that were unconscious. Cook County Sheriff’s Deputies and Palatine firefighter/paramedics arrived in the parking lot at the bar near Rand Road and Hintz Road to find a 35-year-old man suffering from puncture wounds and other injuries, and a 32-year-old woman who was also injured.

Cook County Sheriff’s deputies reported that the injuries to both people were initially believed to be non-life-threatening, but both the man and the woman were hospitalized.

Cook County sheriff’s police are investigating the aggravated battery and stabbing at the bar, which is located in an unincorporated area of Arlington Heights at the northwest corner of Rand Road and Hintz Road — surrounded by single family homes, apartments and a cemetery.

A description of an offender or offenders was not immediately available. Both the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and the Arlington Heights Police Department use encrypted police radio communications that cannot be monitored by neighborhood watch citizens or the news media. Also, it was initially unknown whether Arlington Heights police officers were alerted to check the nearby Arlington Heights neighborhoods to check for suspect(s) at large. No suspects are in custody.

Neither police agency posts live emergencies, using Internet or social media alerts when potentially dangerous suspects are at large, or to alert potential eyewitnesses who could alert police for opportunities of apprehension of suspects for investigation.

Crave Bar & Food Joynt is open until 4:00 a.m. every morning.
