Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and Beach Park Fire/Rescue firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:15 a.m. Monday September 10, 2018 to a report of a traffic crash with injuries in the area of Sheridan Road and Beach Road, Beach Park. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and located a single-vehicle crash with the driver inside a Jeep Patriot with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 45 year-old woman from Waukegan, was extricated from the Jeep by Beach Park Fire/Rescue, and transported with life-threatening injuries to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, a preliminary investigation indicated the 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by the 45-year-old woman of Waukegan, was traveling southbound on Sheridan Road, just north of Beach Road. As the driver approached Beach Road, for an unknown reason, she left the roadway (on the west side of the road). The Jeep struck the curb, a light-standard control box, and a brick wall. The Jeep then rolled over.
The crash investigation is ongoing by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
