Hoffman Estates police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:37 PM Friday August 3, 2018 to a report of a rollover crash with injuries, Beverly Rd and Higgins Rd Hoffman Estates, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report a rollover crash with injuries. A second and third ambulance were requested.
The first crew on arrival by 9:41 p.m. reported two vehicles with entrapment on both vehicles.
The crash is located on Higgins Road about 150 feet west of Beverly Road. Both vehicles have severe damage. One vehicle is on its side in the eastbound lanes of Higgins Road. The other vehicle is on the median, facing eastbound. The vehicle in the median had its roof removed, apparently from firefighters using extrication tools.
A third vehicle was in the right eastbound lane near the intersection with Beverly Road. There was no information available to determine whether the third vehicle was involved in the crash.
The Speed Limit on Higgins Road is 55 MPH.
The last person was extricated about 10:20 p.m. Flight for Life was dispatched to the scene, and lifted off from the landing zone about 10:40 p.m.
An extended crash investigation is ongoing, and both directions of Higgins Road are closed between Beverly Road and Dundee Avenue (Route 25). All northbound traffic on Beverly Road must turn right on Higgins Road or turn around and go south on Beverly Road.
