Chicago police, firefighters, and paramedics responded about 1:00 a.m. Friday August 17, 2018 to a report of a gunshot victim in the block of 200 East Illinois after a man was shot in a parking garage.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Friday on the fifth floor of the garage in the 200 block of East Illinois.
The victim was shot in the abdomen. He was transported to a hospital and listed in
Chicago police are investigating. A suspect was later arrested near a bus stop at Columbus Drive and Illinois Street less than a block away.
The parking garage is less than a block from the Apple Michigan Avenue store, Tribune Tower, NBC Tower and Cityfront Plaza.
About 12:40 a.m. Friday, a man was also shot in the abdomen near 30 East Wacker Drive less than a mile southeast of the crime scene.
