Personnel and equiment from over 20 fire departments from the surrounding communities responded to assist Libertyville firefighters. Public safety members from the Lake County Forest Preserve also responded.

Libertyville Fire Department reported in a press release that many resources were needed to locate and remove the subject from the water because of the depth, topography, and debris in the water. The fisherman was removed from the water at approximately 4:10 p.m. Saturday. His body was transferred to the Lake County Coroner’s office.
