The four-day music fest sold out, but as CBS 2’s Jim Williams reports, each year some kids end up paying much more than the ticket cost.

At the 2017 festival, 234 Lollapalooza fans were transported by paramedic ambulance to multiple hospitals. The average bill was $1,000, and ranging from $1,500 to $3,500.

Lollapalooza organizer will pay for the private ambulance cost inside the festival grounds. Additionally, organizers will pay for a Chicago Fire Department rescue ambulance response outside the festival grounds it the patient is still wearing a Lollapalooza bracelet.

Lollapalooza is scheduled for Thursday-Sunday, August 2-5 in Grant Park. “Doors” (gates) will open at 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
