Deck Fire Quickly Extinguished on North Walnut Ave Near Bode Rd, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:27 AM Wednesday May 2, 2018 to a report of a deck fire at a house at 756 North Walnut Lane Schaumburg, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics reported smoke in the area as they arrived, and the fire was extinguished

Fire command reported a deck fire with some extension into the house, but the fire was quickly extinguished and held as a Code 3 (confirmed fire resonse).

Engine 54 was assigned RIT at the front of the building.

Ambulance 53’s crew was assigned to the command post, A51’s crew assigned to team up with crews from Truck 53 and Engine 51.

The exterior fire was reported “fire out” by 12:38 a.m.

Fire crews assigned to check the interior for fire extension. Smoke ejectors were placed inside to ventilate the house.

Squad 55’s crew was assigned to bring K12 saws to cut part of the deck by 12:40 a.m. to fully extinguish and overhaul the fire.

Two lines were led out for the deck fire on the C-side of the house with extension into the house. One line was led out to the deck, and one line was led out to the interior of the house. Companies were overhauling and ventilating the building by 12:42 a.m.
