Elk Grove Village Police at Quartz Master for apparent accidental death investigation

Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:28 PM Wednesday February 28, 2018 to a report of a man trapped under a large piece of granite at Quartz Master Kitchen & Bath, 1620 Jarvis Ave Elk Grove Village, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a man was entrapped under a large piece of granite, and may have been trapped for several hours.

UPDATE: Identity Released: Victim Crushed by Granite in Elk Grove Village Was Business Owner

Firefighter/paramedics on arrival reported that Elk Grove Village police only wanted one paramedic inside to confirm a death at the scene.

Some fire companies were immediately returned.

Police conducted a death investigation and were interviewing one person in a police SUV.

Firefighters returned about 6:56 p.m. for extrication and body removal, following the police investigation.

It is unknown whether OSHA was contacted.
