French Bulldog Puppy Stolen at Pet Store at Fox Valley Mall Aurora Police; Suspect Flees in Silver SUV

Aurora police responded about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday February 21, 2018 to a report that a man stole a French bulldog puppy from the Furry Babies pet store, 2352 Fox Valley Center Drive, in the Fox Valley Mall. The French bulldog puppy is valued at $6,000.

Police said the man entered the store about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, and picked up the bulldog puppy from its crib while employees were waiting on other customers. He then ran away with the bulldog puppy.

Furry Babies employees chased the offender through an adjacent department store, where he sprinted through a main aisle. He also appeared to drop something — possibly keys that he immediately picked up. The offender fled through the mall and exited from upper level doors, heading north through the parking lot. He was last seen running across New York Street at the north perimeter of the Westfield Fox Valley to a restaurant parking lot, where he entered a silver SUV and drove away.

The offender is described as a male/white or male/Hispanic in his late teens or early 20s, 5’10” 145-160 pounds with a thin mustache, wearing a tan baseball cap, a black jacket and tan khaki pants. The getaway SUV was possibly Lincoln Navigator or Aviator with temporary license plates and 22-inch chrome wheel rims.

Surveillance images have been shared on traditional media and social media, but the images are blurry.

Police urge anyone with information about the theft to call Aurora police at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
