Schaumburg Police Ask for Help Investigating Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crime Near Campanelli School

Schaumburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a driver wanted for the investigation of a hit-and-run pedestrian incident that occurred 20 days ago on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at the intersection of Springinsguth Road and Weathersfield Way.

A female juvenile, approximately 13-years-old, was crossing Springinsguth Road, eastbound on Weathersfield Way. The girl was struck while in the crosswalk.

The offending vehicle was only described as an unknown black sedan that was driven northbound through the intersection when the girl was struck. The driver of the black sedan had also disregarded a stop sign while passing through the intersection, according to witnesses.

The girl was transported to St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Schaumburg Police are investigating the incident and urge any citizens with information about the case to call the Schaumburg Police Department Special Operations Division Traffic Unit at 847-882-3534.
