The Taste of Evanston is a little more of a gourmet event compared to other Chicago area food festivals. Arlington Heights isn’t the only Chicago area community with a successful and delightful list of restaurants, and an annual food festival. The Mane Event and Taste of Arlington Heights is coming soon on August 4-5, but Evanston held their food festival today. The 3rd Annual Taste of Evanston was sold out on July 6, 2017 for the July 9, 2017 event. Bill Glader, a graduate of the former Arlington High School, is a main organizer of the Taste of Evanston via his leadership at the Rotary Club of Evanston Lighthouse.
The Taste of Evanston is also a combined food festival and fundraiser.
This year’s event on Sunday July 9, 2017, Evanston’s critically acclaimed restaurants, breweries, and local sponsors hosted the Taste of Evanston Food Festival on the great lawn of the historic Dawes House lakeside mansion. With its special venue, culinary diversity, and entertainment, this year’s event promises to be pure foodie’s delight. Tickets covered all food and drinks, and proceeds will benefit local work-readiness initiatives — Evanston Work Ethic Program, Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse worker training program, and JJ’s List/No Boundaries helping people with disabilities find dignity in work.
