McHenry County Sheriff deputies and Richmond Township Fire Protection District firefighter/parmedics responded 7:30 AM Friday July 28, 2017 to a report of a fatal crash on Route 12 near the intersection of 42.449084, -88.292620 (Route 12 and Kuhn Road Richmond, IL). The crash was also described as located near 4809 Route 12 — east of Kuhn Road. Both vehicles were severely damaged. One vehicle was a large dark or black SUV near the shoulder and a guardrail.
The McHenry County Sheriff closed Route 12 between Kuhn Road and Solon Road during rescue operations and during crash scene investigation.
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office confirmed the fatality Friday morning, but did not release any additional details about the crash. McHenry County Sheriff’s Office also did not provide any additional information.
Route 12 reopened about 10:30 a.m., according to a Nixle alert from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
