On Friday, July 21, 2017, Comcast today announced plans to open an XFINITY Store in Arlington Heights at 324 E. Rand Rd. in the NorthPoint Center located at the northeast corner of Arlington Heights Road and Rand Roads. The store is slated to open toward the end of 2017. The nearly 4,500-square-foot store will give visitors hands-on experience with XFINITY’s range of products and services, from cable TV, high-speed Internet and the company’s new mobile phone service, XFINITY Mobile, to its home security and home automation platform, XFINITY Home.

The address has previously been the location of Scrubs & Beyond and The Children’s Place, and is located west of Chipotle Mexican Grill in the shopping center. The addition of an XFINITY Store elevates the area of Northpoint and nearby shopping centers to a strong retail tech area, which includes an AT&T Store, a Best Buy, a Sprint Store, a T-Mobile store, and a Verizon Wireless store — all within a short distance.

The XFINITY store will feature iPads and other mobile devices that visitors can use to explore XFINITY’s Android apps and iOS apps. Apps range from: XFINITY Stream, which allows customers to watch live TV anywhere at home over WiFi, watch up to 200 live channels outside their homes, stream up to 40,000 On Demand choices on-the-go and download movies and TV shows; and XFINITY WiFi, which allows customers to search for locations of the network’s 17 million hotspots across the country and more than 1.6 million in the region; to xFi, which allows high-speed Internet customers to personalize and control their home networks.

“The store will enhance the customer experience by giving our employees the ability to demonstrate the latest XFINITY products and services and educate visitors about all of their features,” said John Crowley, Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region senior vice president. “In addition, the store has comfortable seating areas that allow visitors to settle in and experience our products and services as though they’re in their own homes.”

Along with product and service demos, customers will be able to pay bills, pick up and return equipment and get assistance from trained, knowledgeable sales and service consultants.

“The XFINITY Store will be a great addition to Arlington Heights, and make it really easy for our residents to do business with Comcast,” said Thomas W. Hayes, Mayor, Village of Arlington Heights. “Arlington Heights is a vibrant community with an extensive retail presence. The store will attract visitors from Arlington Heights as well as surrounding communities.”

The XFINITY Store will have around 15 full- and part-time employees. Store hours will be Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 to 5 p.m.
