Police Pursuit of Elgin Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking Suspects Ends Schaumburg Rd & McCabe Dr, Streamwood — 2 At Large

Elgin police were in pursuit of armed vehicular hijacking suspects in a red Town & Country van eastbound on I-90 from an unknown location in Elgin about 11:19 p.m. Wednesday. The pursuit continued south on Route 59 to Schaumburg Road at about 11:20 p.m. Police and the suspects headed eastbound on Schaumburg Road and passed Bartlett Road at about 11:21 p.m. Police and the suspect’s stolen vehicle were stopped by about 11:27 p.m. near Schaumburg Road and McCabe Drive in Streamwood — just east of Bartlett Road.

Streamwood police and other police agencies were also on the scene. Elgin police reported three suspects in custody and two suspects at large by 11:30 p.m.

The two suspects at large were described as male/black suspects, about 6’0″ with thin builds. One was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.

At 11:38 p.m. it was unknown if the vehicle was stopped or had crashed, and there were no known calls for firefighter/paramedics as of 11:38 p.m.

Traffic is congested on northbound and southbound Bartlett Road at Schaumburg Road, and on westbound Schaumburg Road just east of Bartlett Road. A Waze user is reporting a crash at this location.

Woods and an open field are located northwest of the intersection. All other corners are surrounded by residential neighborhoods.
