Deadly Truck Attack Strikes Berlin Christmas Market, Killing 9 and Injuring 50

Police have reportedly arrested a suspect after an 18-wheeler plowed into a crowd at a Christmas market in Berlin, killing at least 12 people and injuring dozens. Journalist Allan Hall is on the scene in Berlin and joins CBSN with the latest details.

The driver of the semi-trailer truck was apprehended by police and a passenger inside the cab at the time of the crash was killed during a terror attack on a Christmas market in Berlin. The mass killing using an 18-wheeler truck is being investigated as an act of terrorism. The attack occurred near Breitscheidplatz Square, and not far from the Berlin Zoo.

The ISIS group, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Force, tweeted a message taking credit for the terror act that killed 12 people and injured 50 on Monday, December 19, 2016.
