Severe thunderstorms are expected tonight. Possibly two fires caused by lightning have already occurred near Rockford, Illinois. Severe weather headed toward Chicagoland. Severe Thunderstorm Warning already issued in southwest McHenry County, Northwest Kane, Kane County, Southern Boone and Northern DeKalb County.

The most severe weather near Chicagoland appears to be headed toward Kane County and DuPage and Central and Southern Cook County.




TODAY: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 11pm and 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 75. South southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

TONIGHT: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10am, then a slight chance of showers between 10am and 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
