Schaumburg police report that the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of Home Invasion and Attempted Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault against Saul Salazar — 5’5″ 150 LBS male/hispanic; born July 16, 1976. Salazar resides in the 2000 block of Sycamore Ave., Hanover Park, IL. Salazar was book for the felony charges on July 1, 2016.

On May 29, 2016, Schaumburg Police responded to the 2700 block of Odlum Drive for a report of a Criminal Sexual Assault. The offender, unknown to the victim, allegedly entered the victim’s residence without permission, and groped the victim while she was sleeping. The victim woke up while this was taking place and the offender fled the residence. A Community Alert was sent out following the incident to inform the residents. Fingerprint evidence recovered from the scene was confirmed by an independent laboratory to be a match for Saul Salazar.

Schaumburg Detectives notified Streamwood Police due to a previous arrest of Salazar by their agency in 2009. Streamwood Detectives worked closely with Schaumburg Detectives in a joint effort to investigate additional similar Streamwood cases.

On June 29, 2016, Schaumburg Police Detectives, Special Operations Investigators, Streamwood Detectives, and Elgin Detectives all worked together to locate Saul Salazar near his home in the 2000 block of Sycamore Ave. in Hanover Park, IL. Schaumburg Special Operations Investigators took him into custody without incident.

Streamwood Police Department has charges approved for Home Invasion and Aggravated Sexual Assault for one incident in Streamwood. Streamwood continues to investigate other similar incidents.

Court records indicate Salazar (birth year 1977) was held on $2 million bail and that his next scheduled court date is July 21, 2016 at Rolling Meadows Circuit Court.
