Search Ops Video: Missing Arlington Heights Man Tim Anderson air and ground search near location of last ping from cellphone near Donlea Road and Bateman Road in Barrington Hills.

Spring Creek Valley Forest Preserve in Barrington Hills is also known as Spring Lake consists of 4,000 acres of semi-rural rolling hills in the northwest corner of Cook County. Almost 4,000 acres of wilderness serve as a wildlife refuge with unmarked trails. There are equestrian activities permitted in the area. Several horse stables on large estates are located nearby. Some of the estates are located here because of the rural proximity with Arlington International Racecourse.

A ping from Anderson’s cellphone Monday night led Cook County Forest Preserve police, while assisting Arlington Heights police, to discover his dark silver or charcoal Acura TL near the Spring Creek Valley Forest Preserve in Barrington Hills. Anderson’s vehicle was located near the intersection of Donlea Road and Bateman Road in Barrington Hills at 7:00 pm. The location is near a west utility entrance to Spring Creek Valley Forest Preserve and Spring Lake Nature Preserve. The former east leg of Donlea Road was closed down and converted to a trail for the forest preserve. The location of Anderson’s vehicle was about one-half mile north of Algonquin Road. The main staging area, command center, and family waiting area was established at the Barrington Hills Riding Center on Bateman Road, just south of the Donlea Road and Bateman Road intersection.

Arlington Heights police are investigating a missing person report for an Arlington Heights man, Timothy Anderson, age 38, who was last seen by his wife Cathrall when he left home between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. Monday February 8, 2016.
