Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE RADAR] is all clear at about 10:30 a.m. The forecast places the next chance of precipitation as snow at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Satellite images show clear skies over northeast Illinois, but clouds over northwest Illinois, most of Wisconsin, and eastern Iowa. Clear skies are expected to continue until about midnight Saturday/Sunday.

DON’T BE FOOLED BY SATURDAY’S HIGH!

Saturday High 46 degrees at 4:00 PM; Sunday Low at 7 degrees at midnight Sunday/Monday. Or look at it this way: Saturday High 46 at 4:00 p.m. and Monday Low of -2 degrees at 6:00 a.m. — a drop of 48 degrees in 38 hours.

Biggest weather news is that we are headed for our biggest stretch of bitter cold LOWS leading up from overnight Sunday/Monday, Monday/Tuesday, and Tuesday during the day — ALL BELOW ZERO. New Year’s Eve is forecast to bring the lowest temperature at -6 degrees with a wind chill of -24 from about 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then temperatures will rise to bring in New Year’s Day.
