Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE RADAR] shows areas of light precipitation moving easterly and passing the cities of Rockford and DeKalb at about 5:53 a.m. — entering western McHenry County and western Kane County. About one-quarter inch of snow is expected between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Most of the snowfall is forecast between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Cloud cover exists over most of Illinois and all of Wisconsin. The cloudy conditions are expected to hold temperatures down, bringing the third consecutive day of unseasonably cold weather to the area.
Wind is expected to be stiff from the southwest at about 17 mph to 21 mph. Gusts from the southwest from 24 mph to 31 mph between 5:00 a.m. until about 5:00 p.m.

The worst of the weather is passing to the south of Chicagoland through Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky with significant snow threatening the Northeast on Wednesday and Thanksgiving day. However, lake effect snow may be an issue in northwest Indiana today and Tuesday.
