Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: Halloween Washout with Almost 2 Inches of Rain Possible Wednesday And Thursday

Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE RADAR] shows a large area of precipitation approaching Quad Cities and Peoria at about 9:27 a.m. CDT.

Satellite images show heavy clouds over Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri.

A large storm system will pass through the region today and through Thursday night. Almost two inches of rainfall is possible between 2:00 p.m. today and midnight Thursday/Friday. Some thunder is also possible with the rainfall.

No severe weather is mentioned in the outlook for northeast Illinois for the next two days as the system passes. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center indicates severe weather probability for parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas today. On Thursday, severe weather probability is indicated for southeast and central Missouri, central and southern Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Mississippi, Alabama, northwest Georgia, Ohio, western West Virginia and western Pennsylvania.

Warm Front Moving North Tonight
Temperatures are forecast to hit 60 degrees — rising ovrnight with a high of 63 degrees about 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. A high of 63-64 degrees is forecast for Halloween. A cold front is forecast to move in about 5:00 p.m. Halloween night with the temperatures falling to the 40s after midnight.

Tonight A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 7pm. Patchy fog after 10pm. Temperature rising to around 63 by 4am. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
