VIDEO: House fire on Dunton Avenue, just south of Olive Street, where a basement fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:59 PM Tuesday to a house fire in the block of 1200 North Dunton Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a fire in a basement in a single family home. The fire was extinguished in less than 15 minutes. Initial reports were that two pets were rescued, but this is not yet confirmed.

No residents or firefighters were injured during firefighting operations.

Extra precautions were taken to rotate crews in the heat. Air temperature at 3:52 p.m. was reported to be 95°F with a heat index of 99.5°F.
