Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:14 PM Monday of a theft from an apartment in the 4200 block of Bloomington Avenue — at the Arbor Lakes Management Office. Police received a report that the manager of the leasing office was showing an apartment to a mother and her child. Apparently the child, about 10-years-old, took the resident’s or the leasing office manager’s phone inside the apartment.

According to police report, the offenders entered the apartment complex office and asked about renting an apartment. While a female/adult suspect was talking to the apartment leasing office manager, one of two male/child suspects went upstairs to an apartment and returned. The male/chile suspect asked the female/adult suspect for the vehicle keys and left the office. The female/adult suspect immediately left with the second child — following the first child.

The victim of theft went upstairs to the apartment and discovered that her Motorola Droid phone ($650 value) was missing.

Offenders were described as a female/black in her 40’s about 5’10” 300 LBS. Both children were described as male/black, 10-years-old, about 4’10”, 150 LBS.

Arlington Heights police are investigating.
