Two Teens Investigated After Suspicious Grass Fire Near Shell Gas Station, Algonquin Rd and Elmhurst Rd

Mount Prospect police and firefighters responded about 10:41 a.m. Monday to a grass fire behind a Shell gas station at Elmhurst Road and Algonquin Road. Police received a report that two teens were possibly responsible for starting the fire The offenders were described as two male white teens — one was wearing a blue shirt and one was wearing a gray shirt. Both were last seen running southbound.

Police were out with both suspects at Oakton Road and Elmhurst Road within about seven minutes. Two youths were transported to Mount Prospect Police Department for investigation.
