Mom Drops Infant to Citizen Rescuer, Lowers 3-Year-Old from Third Floor Window During Apartment Fire in Stone Mountain, Georgia

A baby and a three year old girl survive a fire after being dropped from the third floor of a burning building. Several police officers also helped in the rescue of the two children and three adults Wednesday night.

During a fire in a ground floor apartment about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, a mother dropped her infant into the arms of Lawrence Fort, who grabbed a bubble jacket for improved safety of the drop. Next the mother used a black harness rope to lower her three-year-old daughter.

the fire occurred at Three Oaks Bend Apartments in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
