Johnsonville Big Taste Grill — Brats! Coming to Mariano’s.
UPDATE: Whoah! The Big Taste Grill is not on the schedule for Mariano’s in Arlington Heights and Vernon Hills. The Johnsonville Big Taste Grill calendar reports the truck is at Pick’n Save in West Milwaukee Saturday, and Metro Market Retail in Mequon, Wisconsin on Sunday.
The Johnsonville Big Taste Grill — the world’s largest touring bratwurst grill — will be parked at Mariano’s Fresh Market Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 802 East Northwest Highway in Arlington Heights and Sunday, August 14, 2011 for the Vernon Hills Grand Opening Celebration, 1720 North Milwaukee Avenue Milwaukee Avenue. Brat proceeds will benefit the Elk Grove Village Rotary Club. Times not available yet.
The Johnsonville Big Taste Grill is arriving at the Arlington Heights Mariano’s just after a three-day stop at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival at Canton, Ohio. Johnsonville sausage products are sold in 16 National Football League stadiums, and the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill is often parked outside Soldier Field — season-to-season.
The Johnsonville Big Taste (semi-truck-sized) Grill weighs in at 53,000 pounds and measures 65 feet long, 20 feet high and six feet in diameter. The truck is impressive with maximum capability to hold up to ten grillers, preparing 750 brats at a tim or 2,500 brats per hour.
