Arlington Heights police responded just before midnight Monday to a domestic threat inside a single-family home in the 2600 block of North Stratford. Just after midnight police set up a perimeter around a house on the east side of Stratford Road, just south of Canterbury Drive.

Police were attempting to contact a male subject inside of the house who called 911 to report that he had killed his father.

About 1:00 a.m. Tuesday the man who police were attempting to contact came out of the garage or front door. Police immediately placed him in custody and walked him in handcuffs to an Arlington Heights Fire Department rescue ambulance. The man was transported to Northwest Community Hospital under police guard.

Additional paramedics in staging were brought up to the scene by police to confirm that the victim was dead inside the house.

The Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) was immediately called to the scene. Arlington Heights police and MCAT are apparently investigating a homicide.
