Fugitive Ronnie Nicholson Evades Capture at Grand Oaks Apartments Near Gurnee

U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force agents attempted to arrest Ronnie Nicholson at the Grand Oaks apartment complex at Grand Avenue and Oakwood Drive near Gurnee at 8:30 a.m., but the suspect managed to escape the perimeter and enter a partially wooded area near the apartment at Route 45 and Grand Avenue or Rollins Road and Route 45.

Law officers searched the Gurnee area for about four hours Wednesday morning with the help of helicopters and K-9 units. The search was terminated in the afternoon.

WANTED FOR DRUG INDUCED HOMICIDE
Ronnie Nicholson is wanted following charges of drug-induced homicide and delivery of a controlled substance that resulted in the May 17 death of Steven M. LaFlamme, 32, of Round Lake Park.

Nicholson is on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to obstructing justice and delivery of a controlled substance in 2007.

Nicholson is a black/male, 5’6″ 150 LBS and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He has personal contacts in Lake County and Kenosha County, Wisconsin.
