Arizona Wildfires: Wallow, Horseshoe 2, Murphy

The huge blaze in eastern Arizona is still burning completely out of control. After reportedly being sparked by a campfire, it has become the second-largest fire in state history and is still growing.

Firefighters are working to save towns of Greer and Springerville. Hundreds of thousands of electric customer may face rolling blackouts as power lines burn.

In Greer, 22 homes have been reported destroyed.

On Friday June 10, 2011 first word of progress has been released in the fight against the major wildfire in Arizona that has destroyed at least 603 square miles.

Wallow (Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest): 386,453 acres at zero percent contained. This fire is 23 miles southwest of Alpine. Structures are threatened and evacuations several communities in the area.

Horseshoe 2 (Coronado National Forest): 128,652 acres at 40 percent contained. This fire is five miles northeast of Bisbee. Evacuation orders are in effect.
