Chicago-Arlington Heights Snowfall: New: 1.0 Inches, Snow Cover 4.0 Inches

A total of 1.0 inch of new light snow fell from Monday just before 7:45 a.m. until about 1:00 p.m. with light snow still falling in Arlington Heights. Snow was slightly wet and is moderate packing snow. Snow cover at 1:00 p.m. Monday was 4.0 inches in Arlington Heights. Accumulation on pavement was 1.0 inches of snow.

At 12:45 p.m. rain is southwest of Peoria, Illinois and freezing rain is defined by a small area west of Peoria to the Mississippi River. Otherwise snow and rain cover area is widespread to the west and south of Arlington Heights.

A wintry mix of rain, snow, freezing rain and sleet is expected through midnight. Tonight’s low is forecast at 32°F.
