More Snow Forecast, But It’s No ‘Big Snow’


Arlington Heights snowfall the day after the BIG SNOW of 1967 of January 26-27. Twenty-three inches fell in 29 hours.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 18. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph.

Thursday: A 50 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 27. North northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. Wind chill values as low as zero. West northwest wind around 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 23. Wind chill values as low as zero. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Tonight…Snow. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Temperatures nearly steady around 20. Light and variable winds. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.

Thursday…Cloudy. Light snow likely in the morning…then a chance of light snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Total snow accumulation 1 to 3 inches. Highs in the upper 20s. Light and variable winds until late afternoon becoming northwest around 10 mph late in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.

Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16. Northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.
